Through the looking glass

Daily post said : You can always write about how you write. Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to become a writer. But, most importantly, I wanted to write. Honestly speaking, writing really made my Life worth living, made my Life interesting. After all, writing is another form of expressing. Through writing, I’ve learnt that you needn’t always use your voice to voice your opinion. I remember the first time I read “Alice in Wonderland” , I was 10 years old and even back then, the character of Mad Hatter fascinated me. Mad Hatter, to me, represented human emotions. Every time he put on a different hat, it seemed like he was expressing a new feeling. And I can remember how amazed I was because I was thinking “How come humans can express so many feelings?” That’s when the screen on my “looking glass” changed. I began to see things in a whole new perspective. Every time I faced an absurd situation in Life, I would pick up the book and just start reading it. And I think that’s what the book taught me. That’s what the story taught me. An absurd situation in your Life can help you gain more wisdom than a normal one.

So, every time I think of the characters in the story, that’s what inspires me to write. That’s what tells me that no matter how many surprises Life has in store for you- Good or Bad- if you look at it through the looking glass, you’ll find out that – Life is Wonderful.

“In a Wonderland they lie,

Dreaming as the days go by,

Dreaming as the summers die:

Ever drifting down the stream-

Lingering in the golden gleam-

Life, what is it but a dream?”

— Lewis Carroll (Through The Looking Glass)

Turn back the hands of Time
February 20, 2011

If I could turn back the hands of time, would I change anything? People always think of what they would do if they could go back in Time. What if they do? I always question myself. Would that change anything? Would that make a difference in my Life? Would it change the way I live? To be honest, if I could turn back the hands of time, I’d do a lot of things I couldn’t do at that particular moment. The thing is, I don’t want to. I guess that’s what makes us human. I guess that’s what makes us only human. Listening to R.Kelly’s “If I could turn back the hands of time” and I was just wondering “What if I could really change something in the past?” and I already knew the answer. If I really want to change something in the past, I need not travel back in time. I would change it now .

Co-Incidences. I don’t know why its so hard for me to believe in co-incidences. Confuses me too. What if there are no co-incidences? What if everything happens for a reason?

What if what we see in plain sight isn’t the whole picture? What if there’s a bigger plan behind each and every thing we do, each and every decision we make, each and every step we take? After a quiet time with myself, I realize that though this is the most confusing part of Life for me, it is also the part of Life that is the least confusing. It is easy to believe that there are no co-incidences, but no proof to back it up. Maybe I don’t need any. Maybe even that’s a part of a bigger plan taking shape. My purpose in Life has still not unfolded. But maybe when it will, I will have the answer. Maybe when it will, I will understand what I’ve been living this Life for.

Something I learned recently

Topic #46 by Daily Post

I’ve been busy the past two weeks but here I am again! It feels great to start blogging again.Hopefully, I will catch up with the posts I’ve missed out on. =) Something I learned recently was Forgiveness. There are times in everybody’s Life when you just can’t seem to forgive someone for something that they did. But I learned, by forgiving others, that forgiveness is a gift very few possess. I’ll keep this post short because, there is not much I can explain about forgiveness because it is better learnt when it is practiced. In short:

“To forgive is the highest, most beautiful form of love. In return, you will receive untold peace and happiness.”

-Robert Muller

Light up the Darkness
January 23, 2011

Now that I am kinda relaxed, I get to think of many things. (Paul Collier’s music really works :P). Its just that we have such a busy life that we don’t see the beauty of the world in plain sight. Every thing that is around us is beautiful in its own way. We pass by the same old tree everyday and think “Oh the same old tree” or don’t think of anything at all. But what if you were born yesterday and you get to see the world today? Everything is so beautiful. Even a log of wood. Overtime, we get too involved with our own lives that we do not think of the life around us.

Say you are huge, look at the moon, look at the stars, look at the sun
Look at the ocean and the desert and the mountains and the sky
Say I am just a speck of dust inside a giant’s eye
I am just a speck of dust inside a giant’s eye
Did you ever glance around to take a look at the life around you? Did you ever find trees speaking to you when you sit under it thinking you are all alone? Did you ever find yourself talking about the creatures that cannot speak? Did you ever think of what these creatures might say if they had a chance to speak? Did you ever glance behind to find yourself looking at a log of wood or a bird or a dog? Did you ever think of anything else than your own life? At least for a moment?Did you ever find beauty in the simplest of things? Did you ever do anything like speaking without uttering a word?
The world may be beautiful to you in many ways. But what’s important is that understanding between you and the life around you. You aren’t a stranger in an unknown land. Some try to separate human beings and animals. Well, I’d say Human Beings are just animals who can speak. There are many unknown things in this world of ours. But we need not try to find out the answer. We are so busy looking everywhere else for the answer when it is right in front of us. Everyone is capable of seeing the answer to every question unknown. Its just that only a few of them “want” to.
People are always looking for the “answers”.What is the question? Is it about the vastness of the Universe? Is it about the number of stars in the sky? Is it about what happens after we die? Is it about what we don’t see? Or is it something much simpler?
I’ll leave the answer to you. Maybe, some things are better left in the great unknown. Maybe we’re still living in a dark world. Maybe all we have to do is to Light up the Darkness. Maybe then, we can find out what is illuminated by the light.

What do you want to be remembered for?

If I had the chance to make the world a better place, I would. And I would want to be remembered for that. Even if I fail, I’ll know that its not the end. I’m gonna get back up and try again. Even if I fail, I’ll at least know that I tried while I could have chosen something else.
